EV home charger grants

Republic of Ireland — SEAI

Eligible applicants may claim up to €300 towards an approved smart home charger and installation. Apply and receive the Letter of Offer before work starts.

Eligible applicants may receive 75% of chargepoint purchase and installation costs, up to £500. Household routes depend on the applicant, vehicle, property and parking arrangement.

Anthony, co-owner of Cooke Bros Electrical Ltd, brings 20 years of electrical-industry experience to Go Electric (IRL) LTD. The team reviews the charger, parking position, cable route and existing electrical supply before confirming the installation scope.

Your quick WhatsApp installation survey

After you request a preferred date, Anthony contacts you on WhatsApp. Reply with these five items so the team can assess the electrical supply and proposed cable route:

  1. A clear photo of the main consumer unit or fuse board with the door open.
  2. The location of the fuse board in the property.
  3. A photo of the main incoming electrical supply with the door open, where it is inside an outside white box.
  4. A photo of the exact place where you want the charger installed.
  5. A short video from the fuse board to the proposed outdoor charger position.

EV charger installation questions

Is a requested date confirmed immediately?

No. The calendar records a preferred weekday and AM or PM period. Anthony reviews the request and confirms it through the booking system. The slot is then removed from the calendar and you receive a separate confirmation email.

What happens after I request an installation?

Anthony contacts you on WhatsApp for the five-item site survey. After reviewing your photos, fuse-board location and cable-route video, he can confirm the booking; the selected AM or PM slot is reserved and a confirmed-booking email is sent to you.

What can change the final price?

Cable routing, the consumer unit, earthing, parking position and additional electrical work can affect the final scope.

Do you handle commercial charging?

Yes. Commercial and multi-point requirements need an individual site assessment.
